The Warrant application stores and maintains information related to arrest warrants, temporary protection orders, and attempts to locate. Law enforcement agencies and courts can enter new warrants or search open or canceled warrants. Data pertaining to the warrant is entered on a master screen and additional warrants can be attached to the original record. Officers may also clear, cancel or re·activate a warrant.

Due to the high volume of warrant attachments a paperless interface was created to manage the process for both police and court staff. When a court issues a warrant, the data is entered into the court’s records management system (CLIP), which automatically transfers the information to the Warrant system for review by law enforcement personnel. A single check box update allows the police agency to forward entries to LEADS and NCIC if required. A NORIS warrant can be served and printed by any NORIS agency.
