Online Alternatives Program (OAP)
The Online Alternatives Program (OAP) is a web·based educational program developed to support first·time or low risk offenders place on probation. It is designed to allow defendants to participate in programs without having to report to a specific location at a specific time. Participants are able to see the postings of other class participants and are tested, and must pass, on each section of the course before proceeding. The program frees probation officer time and makes this option available to defendants who live outside of the jurisdiction where travel might be a problem. Probation officers can monitor stage of completion, test results and participation at a glance.
